Accessibility statement
This website is built to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That is the standard we test other websites against, and it is the standard we hold this one to.
What we do on every page
- Before a page is published, we scan it with axe-core at 1440 and 375 pixels wide. A page with one or more violations is not published.
- We move through every control with the Tab key. Each control shows a focus outline, three pixels of blue, and the order follows the page.
- Text is at least 4.5 to 1 against its ground. Buttons, fields and outlines are at least 3 to 1.
- Each image that carries meaning has alt text. Drawings that only decorate are hidden from a screen reader, and the words next to them carry the meaning.
- Headings are in order, each page has one h1, and a skip link is the first control on the page.
- Each page reflows to one column at 320 pixels wide. No page scrolls sideways.
- The pages run no JavaScript. One stylesheet, one font file from our own server, and no cookies.
- The price form has a visible label on each field. If a field is empty or wrong, your browser says which one.
- Copy follows ASD-STE100 Simplified Technical English: short sentences, one meaning for each word.
How we test
The automated engine is axe-core 4.12.1 in a Chromium browser, through Playwright. A person then tests with the keyboard, with the browser's accessibility tree, and at 200 and 400 percent zoom. The Windows machine with NVDA is used for screen reader passes.
Known limits
- The sample report PDF is tagged, has bookmarks, a title and a language. It has not yet been read with NVDA or checked with PAC 2024. When that pass is done, this statement will say so.
- On a phone, the four steps of the patient's path scroll inside a box. A keyboard user moves to the box with the Tab key and moves it with the arrow keys.
- The price form is handled by Netlify, our host. The page you land on after it is ours.
- The sample report page shows blurred screenshots of a real website. Each one has alt text that says what is in it.
